About Kurono

The home of anime

We used to be AniWatch

In August 2026 we changed our name to Kurono and moved to our own domain, kurono.nl.

“AniWatch” was never really ours. A dozen sites go by that name, and it said nothing about who we are or what we stand for. Kurono is a name of our own, on an address of our own — not something borrowed.

Nothing else changed. Same library, same player, same account. Your watchlist and watch history are exactly where you left them.

And to be clear about the thing people always ask when a free site changes its name: Kurono remains free to watch. We now show banner ads to help cover the cost of running the site.

Comments, ratings and profiles

Kurono is a bit less quiet than it was. Three things you can do now:

  • Comment. Every episode has a comment section, and every series has a Comments tab. You can reply to someone, give a thumbs up or down, and hide a spoiler behind a tap so nobody reads it by accident. You need an account to post — reading is open to everyone.
  • Rate. Give a series a score out of five on its page, or rate a single episode under the player. Tap the same star again to take your vote back. The average is public, who voted what is not.
  • Look at profiles. Everyone has a page at kurono.nl/u/yourname showing what they are watching, their watchlist, their stats and their recent comments. Click any name under a comment to get there.

Your profile is public unless you hide it. Public profiles show watch activity and community contributions, but never account credentials or sign-in details. A private profile only shows a privacy notice.

Want people to be able to look? Open your account, go to Privacy & social and switch Private profile on. You can switch it off whenever you like — your comments stay visible either way.

What is Kurono?

Kurono is a streaming platform dedicated entirely to anime. We bring you the latest simulcasts, classic series, and everything in between — all in one place.

Our mission

We believe anime is for everyone. Our mission is to make it as easy as possible to watch the shows you love, discover new favorites, and be part of a community that shares your passion.

The library

From action-packed shonen to slice-of-life, mecha to romance — our library covers every genre. New episodes are added the same day they air in Japan.
