Manga Read Aloud Now Gives Every Character Their Own Voice
AI works out who is talking on each page, then every character gets a voice of their own, with the emotion to match.
Manga used to be silent on Kurono. Read aloud could already read a chapter out loud, but every bubble came out in the same flat voice. Not anymore: Ichigo actually shouts, the thugs actually panic and the ghost girl actually sounds like a ghost girl.
What changed
- AI looks at each page and works out who is talking.
- Each character keeps the same voice for the whole chapter.
- Emotions come through: shouting, whispering, scared, sad and laughing.
- The speaker's name shows in the player and the bubble being read lights up.
- Sound effects and scan credits are skipped.
How to try it
Open any chapter from the manga page, tap the Read aloud button (the speaker icon) and press Play. Reading starts on the page you are on and keeps going to the end of the chapter, turning the pages for you.
Character voices are on by default when you use a Kurono voice. You can switch them off in the Read aloud settings.
It is AI guessing who is talking, so it can get it wrong now and then. If it does, let us know through the report form or in our Discord support channel.
